Corey Godfrey is a German-born artist currently residing in Dallas, Texas, where she has been an active member of the artistic community for over 18 years. She obtained her BFA in drawing and painting from the University of North Texas in 2008, where she discovered her deep passion for craft and fiber arts, particularly working with yarn, a medium often associated with women.
Drawing inspiration from her dreams, Corey’s work delves into the realm of memory, serving as the foundation for each series she creates. Her current body of work encompasses 2D works, 3D works and immersive installations. Within her pieces, she explores themes such as female sexuality, the ever-changing nature in the world, and the introspective unraveling of her own inner layers. Corey has exhibited her work both regionally and nationally.
In addition to working as an artist, Corey actively contributes to the Dallas art scene through her role at AURORA, a prominent arts organization based in the city. As an artist and arts advocate, she values the opportunity to support local, national, and international artists, fostering social connections and engaging in activism within the Dallas community. Corey continues to evolve her artistic practice while embracing her role as a dedicated member of the arts community.
